Cuenca Ecuador Brigade
October 27- November 5, 2003

Cuenca is a beautiful mountain town, located at 8500 feet above sea level, with a population of about 250,000. Cobblestone streets, old cathedrals, and an open-air market with Ecuadorian hand-made crafts, blankets and clothes make it a very charming and interesting place to explore.

The native language is Spanish, but many in the nearby mountains speak the Quichua language. The city has an international flavor, as some of their famous language schools bring students from all around the world. Open-air markets provide some very tasty and sometimes unusual fare.

On this trip we worked with two medical professionals who are Ecuadorian nationals. Dr. Manuel Avila is a medical doctor with a burden to serve the poor people in his country, and to do so as a service to Christ. He is a loving and gentle man who is working very hard to bring us to his land to help him administer physical and spiritual healing.

Astrid, the dentista that worked with us in our past brigades to Ecuador, helped us again on this trip. Astrid has a sweet spirit, and a gift for helping her people receive the dental care that they might not otherwise have access to.

From October 27 through November 5, 2003 LAMB took 13 people to Cuenca, Ecuador for a medical mission. We provided free medical care, medicines, and dental care to the needy people in villages near Cuenca. We also helped with a construction project.

We would love for you to become our partners in LAMB. More than anything, we need prayer…if you can’t physically join us on the trip, then please pray for us. We want to ask God to keep us safe and healthy, to cause everything to work as planned, to keep the equipment, buses, and planes working perfectly, and most of all, to prepare the hearts of those who will hear the truth of Jesus Christ, and reap a harvest for his kingdom.

We also need funds to help with coming trips. It costs money to arrange an international brigade like this one. We know that God will be faithful in providing the resources we need. Please prayerfully consider how you can support LAMB financially. LAMB is a non-profit corporation, registered with both the state of Minnesota and the federal government, so donations are tax-deductible.

We look forward to making new friends on each and every brigade. Please think about joining us! There are few experiences in life like a short term mission to Latin America. If you’ve never done such a thing, chances are your first short term mission will change you forever. Please contact us if you or anyone you know may be interested.
